Autosports signs Geely
AUTOSPORTS has become the latest dealership group to take on a Geely franchise, becoming the first time the luxury dealer has represented a Chinese automotive brand.
It opened its Geely showroom last week in Leichhart, Sydney, which also has the company’s Lamborghini showroom.
Geely Auto Australia said that its partnership with Autosports was a continuation of its rapid expansion across Australia.
The car-maker has opened 43 dealerships since March this year and will extend to Darwin later this year to complete its presence in all states and territories.
It said: The expansion has been supported by deepening partnerships with some of Australia’s most respected dealer groups, including Jowett Motor Group, McCarroll’s Automotive Group, Regent Motor Group, Autosports Group, Peter Warren Automotive Holdings, Tony White Group, Kevin Dennis Motors, Sime Motors Australia and Pickerings Auto Group.”
Geely Auto Australia CEO Li Lei said: “Geely’s rapid dealership growth is a testament to our efficiency, speed to market, and our strong commitment to the Australian customer.
“We truly appreciate the trust and support of all our dealer partners, whose collaboration has been instrumental in achieving this milestone.
“We are focused on making Geely vehicles accessible to more Australians than ever before — not only at the point of purchase, but throughout their entire ownership experience.”
Autosports CEO Nick Pagent said: “We are delighted to partner with Geely at such an exciting time for the brand.
“Geely’s commitment to innovation, quality, and customer experience aligns perfectly with Autosports Group’s values, and we look forward to bringing the Geely range to more Australian drivers.”
Autosports represents some of the most prestigious automotive brands including Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Polestar, and Volvo.
Geely said that the addition of its cars to this portfolio “was a strong endorsement of Geely’s growing brand strength and reputation in Australia.”
The national network will now provide the foundation for Geely’s expanding product range.
After launching the Geely EX5 earlier this year, it will launch its second model, the Starray EM-i super hybrid SUV, in September 2025, to “offer Australian buyers a new choice in comfort, efficiency, and advanced technology.”
